The service

Software reverse engineering, with a business outcome.

From existing behaviour to maintainable software

Software reverse engineering means examining an existing application to understand its structure, behaviour, interfaces and business rules. QQuantum.ai combines that investigation with custom software development: we can document a system, build an integration, or implement a replacement that your team can maintain.

You can start with a website URL, an app-store link, a demonstration, source access or an application you are authorised to supply. The first deliverable is a feasibility assessment: what we can verify, what remains unknown, and what access a dependable implementation needs. You do not need to arrive with a technical specification.

What businesses need

Keep the useful behaviour. Build around your business.

  • 01

    Replace unsupported business software

An old desktop tool still runs a critical operation, but the supplier or original developers have gone. Recover the rules and file formats you can verify, then replace a bounded workflow with a supported application.

  • 02

Build your own application from a reference

Show us a booking flow, reporting dashboard, customer portal or field-service app. We turn the useful product behaviour into requirements, then build an original interface and implementation for your customers and operations.

  • 03

    Connect systems with missing documentation

Investigate authorised API traffic, exports and local data formats. Build adapters, migration tools or a new web service so your CRM, ERP, customer app and internal systems can exchange information reliably.

  • 04

Understand software before a major decision

Before an acquisition, vendor exit or migration, document dependencies, observable data flows and operational constraints. Receive findings tied to evidence, with uncertainties that need source access or further testing clearly identified.

These are example engagement types, not claims of completed reverse engineering projects or guaranteed outcomes.

What you can bring

A link starts the conversation. Access determines the evidence.

Choose your starting point to see what we can investigate and where the limits are.

Your starting point

What we can verify

Map the experience people can actually use.

We inspect accessible pages, user journeys, browser-delivered JavaScript and permitted network exchanges. That can inform a new web application, customer portal, dashboard or API-backed service.

Useful input
URL, priority workflows and an authorised test account when needed
The limit
A browser cannot reveal private server code, databases, model weights or infrastructure.
  1. 1Record the screens, states and business outcomes in scope.
  2. 2Separate observed behaviour from assumptions about the backend.
  3. 3Design and test a new backend for your requirements.

Understand the application you depend on.

With an authorised installer, executable or extracted package, we can investigate JavaScript/Electron modules, .NET metadata and instructions, or native binaries where the available platform and analysis tools support them.

Useful input
Application version, package, sample files and expected behaviour
The limit
Compiled code may yield partial pseudocode; original source, names and comments are not guaranteed.
  1. 1Identify the package, dependencies and supported analysis environment.
  2. 2Trace the specific feature or file format that matters.
  3. 3Validate a replacement against agreed examples.

Rebuild a mobile workflow with platform limits in view.

Android packages can expose manifests, resources, classes and some decompiled methods. Device observation can help document user journeys. We can then scope a new Android, iOS or cross-platform application and its supporting services.

Useful input
Store link for triage; authorised package or device access for deeper work
The limit
An app-store link is not an analysable package. iOS, encryption, obfuscation and native dependencies require separate assessment.
  1. 1Confirm the target platform and the artefacts available.
  2. 2Document device behaviour and the APIs the client is allowed to use.
  3. 3Scope the new app and backend separately; Flutter package metadata does not recover full Dart source.

Turn stronger evidence into a clearer build scope.

Authorised source access, documentation, HAR captures, database snapshots and representative files can clarify dependencies, data contracts and edge cases. We use the relevant material to specify integrations, migration tools or replacement services.

Useful input
A scoped repository, sanitised captures or representative test data
The limit
A capture only records the exchanges it contains. Missing permissions, services or data remain explicit dependencies.
  1. 1Agree the access boundary and handling of sensitive material.
  2. 2Map the data contracts and rules supported by the evidence.
  3. 3Test with representative examples, including failure cases.
The build

Apps, web services and the systems behind them.

Investigation informs the specification. Engineering delivers the new system.

  • 01

    Web applications & SaaS

Customer portals, internal dashboards, booking systems and business applications with original branding, roles, reporting and the workflows you agree to build.

  • 02

    Mobile & desktop apps

New client applications for agreed platforms, designed for the devices, offline behaviour and distribution requirements of your users. Platform parity is defined in scope.

  • 03

    APIs, integrations & migrations

Independent REST or GraphQL services, adapters, importers and migration utilities. Authentication, data validation, retries and operational monitoring are scoped as part of delivery.

A reference application does not supply its private backend. Where server behaviour is unavailable, we design a new system from your requirements and the behaviour we can observe. Payments, search, AI features, real-time updates and external integrations need their own data, credentials, provider agreements and acceptance criteria.

How we deliver

A clear decision before a large commitment.

  • 01

    Feasibility & scope

Agree your business objective, authorised access and target platforms. Receive a written assessment of viable features, missing evidence, dependencies and the recommended next step. A partial rebuild, integration or documented stop can be the right result.

  • 02

    Behaviour & architecture

Document workflows, state changes, data contracts and important edge cases. Findings distinguish observations, inferences and unknowns. Define the new architecture and acceptance examples before committing to feature parity.

  • 03

    An independent implementation

Build an original codebase around the agreed requirements. Review working increments and test against representative inputs and outputs. Any mocks, unsupported paths and differences from the reference are documented.

  • 04

    Validation & handover

Deliver the agreed source code, tests, documentation and deployment instructions. Production scope includes the agreed security, performance, accessibility and operational checks. Third-party components retain their licences; hosting and ongoing support are agreed separately.

Scope and confidence

Know what a rebuild can promise.

Behaviour can be reproduced. Hidden systems need new engineering.

We do not promise to recover an entire proprietary codebase, reproduce every feature from a URL, or deliver identical results from unknown algorithms. Obfuscation, encrypted packages, device-specific dependencies and unavailable services can limit an investigation. Similar screens alone do not demonstrate equivalent software.

We agree the workflows and test cases that define success. Dates and price follow that scope, the access available and the production requirements. An initial assessment has its own written scope and price; a full rebuild is quoted after the uncertainties are understood.

An independent product, with agreed access.

We work with software you own or are authorised to examine. For third-party references, we establish the permitted scope before investigation and create original code, design and content. We do not copy proprietary code, branding or licensed assets without permission, or bypass authentication, paywalls, licensing or DRM.

Confidential material, personal data, analysis environments and any AI-assisted processing are covered by the agreed handling plan. Start the enquiry with a link and a description; arrange secure access before sharing credentials, source code or sensitive files.

Questions

Questions about reverse engineering and rebuilding apps.

Can you build an app if I just send a link?

A link is enough to start an assessment. A public website may reveal its interface, client-side code and observable behaviour. An app-store link identifies the product but does not provide its executable or source. We confirm what access is needed, then scope an independent implementation. Private backend code and data cannot be recovered from a link alone.

Can you reverse engineer software without its source code?

Often we can investigate specific features without source, using authorised application packages, observable behaviour, file formats and network captures. JavaScript/Electron, .NET, native binaries and Android packages provide different kinds of evidence. Compiled or protected code may yield incomplete findings. We assess the target before promising a result.

Can you rebuild a third-party SaaS product for our business?

We can assess an independent product with comparable business workflows and functionality, within the access and rights available. Your version uses its own code, design and content. Private algorithms, datasets and integrations need separate requirements and engineering. We agree the permitted scope and acceptance criteria before work starts.

Can you replace legacy software when the original developer has left?

Yes, where the available application, data and user knowledge provide enough evidence. We prioritise a bounded business workflow, document its rules and validate a replacement against representative examples. Missing server access, undocumented dependencies or unavailable data may require additional discovery or limit the replacement.

Can you rebuild a backend or undocumented API?

We can document authorised client-server exchanges and implement a new backend or adapter against agreed contracts. Observed traffic only reveals the behaviour captured. It does not reveal private source code, every endpoint, production data or infrastructure. Access to a test environment and representative data improves confidence.

What does an application rebuild cost and how long does it take?

Cost and timing depend on the workflows, access, platforms, integrations and production requirements. We agree the scope and price of an initial assessment first, then quote the build with assumptions and acceptance criteria. We do not publish a universal price or promise a complete application in a fixed number of days from a link.

Will we own the code and be able to host it ourselves?

The bespoke implementation is delivered to your repositories under the agreed ownership terms, with documentation and deployment instructions. Third-party components retain their licences. Hosting, external services and ongoing support are agreed separately. No QQuantum runtime licence is required.

Show us what you want to build.

Send the application or website link, the workflow that matters and what you want your business to do differently. We will establish what is feasible and what a useful first engagement should cover.
