What it is

A broker sells trust before it sells a name.

DomainBooth acquires and sells premium domain names for founders, investors and companies. We designed its new animated mark, redesigned and rebuilt every page with designed mobile layouts, and built a custom CMS for its sales record, featured names, press, testimonials, the blog and enquiries. The new site is live at domainbooth.com.

A premium domain brokerage is asking a founder or a company to hand over a large sum, discreetly, for something they cannot hold. The site is where that trust is either earned or lost, long before a call is booked.

So the work started with the mark. DomainBooth chose Signature: a serif DB monogram inside a hand-drawn ring that stops just short of closing, with a full stop where the pen lifts. It draws itself in on arrival, and opens slightly under the pointer. Everything else on the site takes its tone from it — large type, generous space, one accent colour, restrained motion.

Behind the hand-crafted pages sits a CMS built for how a brokerage actually works: a sales record imported from the existing ledger, featured names, press, testimonials, a blog and an enquiries inbox. The layouts are not editable, so updating the record can never break the design.

What we built

What we built

  1. A new animated mark — Signature

A serif DB monogram inside a hand-drawn ring that stops just short of closing, with a full stop where the pen lifts. Chosen from directions explored over several rounds, then delivered as a full logo set, animated files and a short brand guide.

  2. Every page, redesigned and rebuilt

Acquire, Sell, AI Domains, Track Record, About, Press and Insights, and the pages around them — with a designed mobile layout for each rather than a shrunk desktop.

  3. A CMS built for a brokerage

The hand-crafted pages stay hand-crafted; the sales record, featured names, press, testimonials, the blog and enquiries are managed in a CMS that cannot break the design. The existing sales ledger is imported from a spreadsheet.

  4. Launch, without losing what ranks

Redirects from every current page address, page titles, descriptions and a sitemap — so the move to the new site keeps the links and search positions the old one earned.

  5. Where our work ends

The brokerage, its domains and its sales are DomainBooth’s own. The transaction figures and the track record on its site are the brokerage’s, not results of our work. Our part is the mark, the design, the build and the CMS.

    Not ours
The constraints that shaped it

The constraints that shaped it

A brokerage site has two readers: a buyer deciding whether to trust it, and a search engine deciding what it is. Both shaped the build.

  • 01

    Discretion is the product

Buyers often acquire a name before announcing what it is for. The site speaks quietly — confidential acquisition is a service of its own, and nothing on the page asks for more than an enquiry needs.

  • 02

    The record must stay true

A track record goes stale the moment it is hard to update. The sales ledger lives in the CMS, so the brokerage can keep it current without asking us, and the hand-crafted pages read from it.

  • 03

    Moving house without losing rank

The old site has addresses that search engines and other sites already point at. Every one is redirected to its new equivalent, so the launch keeps what the old site earned.

  • 04

    The figures are theirs

The homepage shows the brokerage’s own transaction record. Those sales are DomainBooth’s, and this page does not present any of them as a result of our work.
