Tech packs,
drafted to your blocks.

An AI tech pack is only useful if the factory can sew from it. That means your measurements, your grading and your construction standards, not a plausible-looking template the technologist has to rewrite.

Why generic generators disappoint

An AI tech pack generator turns a sketch, a reference and a brief into the technical specification a factory works from: flat drawings with callouts, a points-of-measure table, grading across the size range, a bill of materials, construction and finishing notes, and labelling. Most of the free tools online produce something that looks like a tech pack. Very few produce one a factory can use without a round of questions.

The reason is that a tech pack is mostly house knowledge. Where your brand measures the chest from, what your tolerances are on a knit versus a woven, which seam allowance your trouser block uses, which trims are approved. A model that does not have those rules guesses them, and a confident guess on a point of measure is worse than a blank field.

So the build starts with your existing tech packs, blocks and size charts. They become the reference the model drafts from and is checked against, and the output is written into the PLM record (Centric, Backbone, Lectra, or the spreadsheet template you already send) rather than into a new tool.

What it drafts and what it refuses

01

Points of measure and grading

Derived from the nearest block in your library and your grade rules, with every value traced to its source so the technologist can see what was inherited and what changed.
02

Bill of materials

Fabric, trims and labels drawn from your approved library and supplier records, so a style cannot quietly specify a trim nobody stocks.
03

Construction and callouts

Construction notes written to your house standard and placed against the flat, plus a list of the questions a factory is likely to ask before sampling.
04

Not: invented measurements

Where no block or rule supports a value, the field is left empty and flagged. Fibre composition and care symbols come from the fabric record and lab results only, because they end up on a legally required label.

How we know it works

We test against tech packs your team has already approved and sampled. The draft is compared field by field with the version that went to the factory, and the measure that matters is how much the technologist had to change, not how complete the page looks. Approved edits flow back into the reference set, so the drafts improve as your range grows.

Questions

Questions about Tech Packs.

What is an AI tech pack generator?

It is software that drafts the technical specification for a garment, including flats with callouts, points of measure, grading, bill of materials and construction notes, from a sketch and a brief. The useful ones work from a brand’s own blocks and size charts and write into its PLM, so a technologist reviews and corrects a draft instead of starting from a blank template.

Can AI make a tech pack from a sketch alone?

It can produce a layout, but not a reliable specification. Measurements, tolerances and grading come from a block and a fit standard, which a sketch does not contain. With your block library and size charts as inputs, a model can draft the numbers and show where each came from; without them it can only guess, and we would rather leave the field blank.

Does it work with our PLM?

That is the point of building it rather than buying a standalone generator. We integrate with the PLM you use, whether Centric, Backbone, Lectra or another, through its API or export format, and where the PLM is really a set of spreadsheets we write to that template. The integration is usually most of the build.

Who is responsible for the final tech pack?

Your technical designer or garment technologist. The system drafts and flags; a named person approves before the pack is released to a factory, and every change they make is kept against the draft. That record is also how the drafting improves.
