Veterinary Practices

Boosters booked,
not just reminded.

Veterinary reminders keep pets on schedule for vaccinations, parasite control and follow-up checks. These ones hold a conversation: they offer a time, take the reply, book it in the PIMS, and hand any question about the animal's health to a person.

Where reminders fall down

Every practice management system can send a pet vaccination reminder. What it rarely does is cope with the answers: the owner who has moved, the cat that has died, the dog that is booked in already at the other branch, the reply asking whether the booster can wait until after a holiday. Those replies sit in an inbox, and the reminder that triggered them is counted as sent.

Good vet client communication is the follow-through. The reminder offers specific appointments, books the one the owner picks, updates the record when a pet has died or moved, and does it in a tone the practice has approved. A message about a pet that has died, sent again three months later, is the kind of mistake that loses a client, so record hygiene is part of the job.

What it handles

01

Vaccination and parasite control

Boosters, flea, tick and worming schedules and health-plan visits, by SMS, email or WhatsApp, with a slot offered in the message.
02

Post-op and chronic follow-ups

Suture removals, re-checks, repeat bloods for long-term medication, scheduled from the plan in the record.
03

Record hygiene

Deceased, rehomed and moved-away replies update the record and stop future reminders, with the change shown to staff.
04

Not: health advice

Whether a vaccine can be delayed, a reaction after the last one, a new symptom: all passed to the clinical team, with the reply attached.

Questions

Questions about Client Reminders.

How do automated veterinary reminders work?

The system reads due dates from the practice management system, such as vaccinations, parasite control, health-plan visits and follow-ups, and messages the owner by their preferred channel with specific appointment times. It reads the reply, books the chosen slot or updates the record, and confirms. Replies that ask about the animal's health go to the clinical team instead of being answered.

Do we need consent to send reminders to clients?

Service reminders about care a pet is already receiving are usually treated differently from marketing, which needs consent under rules such as UK PECR or the Spanish LSSI. Where your reminders fall is a judgement for your practice and its adviser. The system keeps service and marketing messages separate and honours opt-outs recorded in the PIMS.

Can it handle several branches?

Yes. Reminders follow the branch the client uses, offer that branch's diary, and recognise when a pet has already been booked at another site in the group. The same practice rules and approved wording apply across branches, with local details such as opening hours and parking kept per site.
