A consult is not dictation. The history comes out of order, the owner adds details at the door, the exam findings are said half to the nurse. A useful draft sorts that into Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan, keeps what the vet said apart from what the owner said, and leaves the assessment as the vet stated it rather than rewriting it with more confidence.
That last point decides whether a veterinary AI scribe is safe. The scribe records the vet's assessment; it does not supply one. If the vet did not mention a differential, the note does not gain one. Drug names and doses are taken only from what was said and checked against the prescription entered in the PIMS, with any mismatch flagged rather than resolved.
