Virtual sampling in fashion means reviewing a garment as a 3D simulation, built in a tool such as CLO 3D, Browzwear or Style3D, before or instead of a physical proto. It shortens the loop between design, factory and fit, and it lets a range review look at every colourway without making them.
The 3D tool does the simulation. What slows teams down is the work around it: turning fit comments into pattern changes and a revised specification, building colourways and prints for a line review, keeping the 3D file, the PLM record and the factory’s version in step. That is where AI earns its place, and it is the layer we build.
A simulation is only as honest as its fabric data. Drape, stretch and weight need measured physical properties for each material; without them a 3D sample looks right and fits wrong. We treat measured fabric data as a prerequisite, not a nice-to-have.
